These data experts come from enterprise level organisations across the UK and Europe from a wide selection of industries and are all defining and implementing the data strategies within their resepective forward-thinking organisations.


Mark Bird

Mark Bird, Global Head of Data for Global Regulatory Compliance, HSBC

Mark is an innovative leader in data with a successful history delivering data strategy to meet the growing needs of complex financial institutions such as HSBC, Credit Suisse, ING and JP Morgan. Mark possesses a proven track record in delivering and realising strategy through business transformation programmes. Extensive experience spanning the financial sector with particular emphasis on AML and Financial Crime Risk, KYC and On-boarding, Customer and Customer Analytics, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality and Programme Delivery.


John Belchamber

John Belchamber, Head of Global Business Intelligence, Telefonica

John is working within the new BI & Big Data team for Global Telefonica (SA).

John is responsible for:

  • Developing Global and local strategies for Big Data deployment across Europe and Latam driven by business use cases through new technology platforms.
  • Global development,deployment and piloting of centrally designed analytical models.
  • Best Practise knowledge share across all Telefonica companies.
  • Line Management responsibility of central Data Scientist team.

Bijna Dasani

Bijna Dasani, Global Head of Architecture and Innovation, Lloyds Banking Group

Bijna has established strategic, innovation and complex transformation successes, across the globe, for leading Financial Services firms.

Bijna received a felicitation at the House of Lords (UK), at the NRI World Summit (2017) and has been recognised as one of the top 50 Visionary Young Leaders in Business, by Henley Business School (2017), one of 35 leading British business women under 35, by Management Today, Accenture and The Telegraph (2015) a Rising Star by We Are the City (2013) and has received recognition with nine further honours including the National Diversity Awards (2012) and the Asian Women of Achievement Awards (2010). Bijna has also been honoured as the International Women’s Day Young Achiever of the Year (2006).

Bijna is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and an Associate Member of Oriel College, University of Oxford.

Bijna advises and advocates for a diversified portfolio of social impact, inclusion and diversity causes. Bijna is also a Business and FinTech mentor. She also undertakes speaking engagements in these subjects and most recently, has hosted the London Chief Data Office Summit (Lloyds), moderated a panel on Artificial Intelligence, to an audience from 37 countries (SAID Business School, University of Oxford) and is a Judge for the 2017 Excellence in Diversity Awards. Andrew Hall

Andrew Hall, Head of Data Fabric, BNP Paribas

Andrew Hall is the head of market and counterparty risk data strategy and governance at BNP Paribas, responsible for everything to do with data used in Market Risk and Counterparty Risk management. This includes data transformation, infrastructure and governance. Prior to this role, Andrew has worked within risk functions for the past twenty years, delivering market risk and counterparty risk systems at investment banks and asset managers in the City. Prior to moving into the city, Andrew worked in Geographical Information Systems, an early precursor to “google earth”; and before that he applied artificial intelligence and speech recognition techniques to a variety of problems. These days, he has rediscovered his old love of fencing, and can often be seen with an epee trying not to pull a muscle.

By partnering with senior leaders in UK and US, Mark is disrupting and re-imagining delivery of Data Stewardship and data quality. Focusing on creating excellence in new AWS cloud data governance through engagement and collaboration, he is preparing to deliver next-gen data analytics and cloud data storage processes.
